Who We Are

More than 46 years ago in 1972, a small group of brave LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc.) Christians opened our doors to worship together.  It was an era when gathering in public as LGBTQ+ Christians could mean risking your life.

How times have changed!  LGBTQ+ rights have advanced beyond what many original MCC members could imagine.  And yet our church still thrives. The Church and the world need our prophetic witness!

Emerald City MCC continues to worship together because we preach, teach, and practice unconditional inclusivity and desire for radical change not found elsewhere.  Even here in Seattle, where many churches "affirm" gay people as their members, it's still not easy sharing your WHOLE self with a congregation.  Here at MCC, we welcome and celebrate ALL of you!
