Church Invites Rev. H. Ray Neal, Jr. as Candidate
The Pastoral Search Team is proud to announce that it has invited the Reverend H. Ray Neal, Jr., Associate Pastor of MCC Knoxville, Tenn., to visit Seattle as candidate for the position of Pastor. The date of his visit, probably early January 2009, will be announced as soon as arrangements are made.
"I am very honored by your kind invitation to come to MCC Seattle for a weekend as candidate for Pastor of your congregation," said Rev. Neal. "My partner Mark Cooley and I have been in constant prayer these last several weeks about MCC Seattle and God's Will for us and you. We heartily accept your invitation and look forward to coming to Seattle to meet with you and the congregation as soon as possible."
Rev. Neal is an ordained MCC minister. He holds an master of science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision as well as a Master's of Religious Education.
He has experience as pastor of various Baptist churches, as consultant on church growth for the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, and as founder of a church with 38 people which grew under his leadership to over 700 people at its second anniversary. His secular employment has been as a teacher and small business owner.
His partner, Mark Cooley, is a former high school teacher and long term church organist and pianist at a Methodist church in East Tennessee. Rev. Neal is divorced, with three living children and seven grandchildren.
Rev. Neal is a qualified candidate for Pastor. Sometime after his visit--where he will meet with the Pastoral Search Team, preach on Sunday, and meet with the congregation as a whole--MCC Seattle will hold a Congregational Meeting in order to vote whether or not to call him as our Pastor.
